Stars--they're just like US!

They were in, and they were out. It was like a celebrity sighting: tall and young, wearing an assortment of colors because why bother matching, pink-haired one, scruffy-spiffy the other. My oldest and his girl came to celebrate the middle little. Concert tickets they had bought for his seventeenth birthday in December, and the day had finally arrived.

Could we fit in a meal between their arrival and departure? Free dinner goes a long way with early twenty-somethings. We gathered for Taco Tuesday, so watch out for the paparazzi. "Stars! They eat tacos on Tuesday, too!" What conversations could we manage to roll in?

Pass the bowls of this week's projects, black beans, dates for exams, sour cream, updates on summer plans, and salsa. That plate of avocado looks grand. Any news about your internship application?

The littlest of the three, just 8-years-old, showed us a Tae Kwon Do kick so high, oh my. And the crew of three, so cool in their sneakers and their big dreams, were gone. Their photos became plastered in the Hollywood magazine of my mind.

  1. Oh this is awesome. Really cool how you did this. I can relate too, with my kids and their music love and concerts and stuff. My 7 year old shows off her kicks ALL THE TIME. Very clever post - thanks!

    1. Thank you! The youngest--born to entertain, right? The oldest and their love of music is pretty sweet too.

  2. I especially love the way you wove in your serious queries about life with, "Pass the bowls of this week's projects..." How challenging it is to get to the heart of our concerns when the flit in and out of our lives so quickly. Glad you got a chance to eat tacos with them.
