School buildings open their doors again

Nearly one year later, Teacher Town is welcoming staff and students back to school buildings amid a growing list of mitigations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wading through a sea of hyperlinks and video tutorials, teachers are being trained on the concurrent model. According to district officials, teachers are being provided equipment that will allow them to "seamlessly integrate instruction for their students in person and at home." One teacher reports that the addition of a goose-neck projector is a game-changer. "We have all been on a quest ways to engage students. The goose-neck was the missing link all along."

Along the halls of Teacher Town Middle School, staff are refreshing bulletin boards that still display the handiwork of last year's students. The color of the construction paper posters has faded and the corners have curled. In the weeks ahead, staff and students alike are eager to see what will go up in their place.

  1. A familiar brand of excitement displaced into a different time. Weird, but good. Best of luck to all involved!

  2. Good luck to all! We are currently hybrid and our students are in the buildings 4 days a week all day. After spring break, we open up five days a week. I am hoping that all of the efforts we put into to place to make hybrid successful will continue when we start back five days a week!

  5. A bulletin board with last year's student work caught my eye today and I am so glad you wrote about that small but significant detail. You captured the sentiment of reserved eagerness well!

  6. You had me laughing. "The goose-neck was the missing link all along." I also fear I may begin to have nightmares where a goose is strangling me! I agree with Meg. That small bulletin board detail says so much....

  7. You also had me at “goose-neck projector game changer”... say that ten times. Your observant eye for detail is what every reader wants from the Teacher Town daily digest.
