What was designed to be a mini-vacation--kids with the grandparents & hotel reservation in the city--there didn't turn out to be much down-time. As R described it, "It was an epic weekend," complete with a Napa Valley wine tasting, March birthday dinner with friends, and a Chesapeake Bay crab feast. We didn't lounge around, and I barely made it through the first short story in a new collection I recently picked up. The sun didn't shine much either; in fact, large snow flakes fell on this spring day. But in these hours, we filled in space so often left empty in favor of busy family weekends by toasting good times together.
